Streetfighter quadcycle project - AtomicZombie builders forum

"Hi all. Just thought i'd give a progress update. Attached is a picture of plan for revised frame allowing for track width of 25.5". Read more and join the discussion: Streetfighter quad

The StreetFighter Recumbent Quad Cycle is a one-of-a-kind, four-wheeled racing machine that  can best be described as half Indy car, half exercise bicycle! The  ultra low and laid back recumbent riding position gives you a race car  like feel, allowing you to push hard into the corners without fear of a  rollover, and to deliver as much power as your legs can output directly  into the cranks. If building an extremely cool looking, high quality  and fast recumbent cycle is your idea of fun, then the StreetFighter is  the perfect choice.

The StreetFighter is made mostly of standard  bicycle components and square steel tubing, with only two small parts  that need to be machined. If you own a welder and an angle grinder,  then you have all you need to build your own racing quad in your  garage. Because of the unique "hubless" rear wheel design and use of  standard BMX rims, you will not have to spend a fortune on custom  bicycle wheels. The StreetFighter also features dual disc brakes and an  adjustable bottom bracket so riders of any height can enjoy the ride.

The StreetFighter is a great way to experiment with human power, and is  a perfect candidate for a full body, allowing much higher speeds. There  is plenty of room for your own customization due to the simplicity of  the square tube frame. The unique transmission system can be easily  adapted to many other types of vehicles. The StreetFighter is also  robust enough to carry heavy riders.

Take a look at our Builder's Gallery to see other StreetFighter Recumbent Quad Cycle examples, including many creative modifications to the plan. Our  international builders community ranges from students to retired  engineers, but they all have one thing in common - the desire to build  their own stuff!

We also encourage experienced builders who have completed projects based on Atomic Zombie plans to help other novice builders, so feel free to share your advice, tips and tricks with the community.
