The day in celebration of the bike will promote the benefits of biking while also increasing the general public's awareness and respect for bicycle riders.
"More and more people are opting to ride bikes," said event organizer, Ann Keefer. "We want the day to serve as a visible reminder to motorists that they are sharing the road, but probably the best way to educate motorists on bicyclists' rights to the road is to ride respectfully. So, bike safety and maintenance clinics will be a major part of the day."

Yard signs, posters, and flyers have been made to announce the big event. "I Bike Douglas" posters and flyers are available. Yellow yard signs with the "I Bike Douglas" logo are available for purchase for $5.00. If you are interested in posting information or buying a yard sign contact Sarah Elliott: sarah@dddwichita.com.
Don't forget bike racks are now on all city buses. You may opt to ride the bus to Douglas Ave to participate!
